In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Ewell Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though specific age restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence, suitable for the rented vehicle, is required and must have been held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification, proof of current address, payment details, and a security deposit must also be provided. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations for Ewell's car hire services can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is imperative to conduct a comprehensive inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be generated and requires your signature. Please return the vehicle in the same state as it was received, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel as at the time of collection; otherwise, refueling fees will apply. Late returns could result in extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rental agreements include basic third-party insurance coverage. Detailed information regarding coverage limits and excess amounts is outlined in your Rental Agreement. For those seeking to minimize financial liability, additional insurance options may be offered. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damages or losses up to the specified excess amount, except where additional insurance applies. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional fees.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous maneuvers is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is forbidden, and sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it is not intended for, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Ewell is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may result from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not surpass the total amount paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
